Salvatore Ferragamo celebra il festival del cinema americano presso Printemps De Deauville

Fedele all’immagine del suo fondatore, ‘‘il calzolaio delle stelle’’, che ha creato calzature per le più famose star di Hollywood, da Marilyn Monroe ad Audrey Hepburn, e prima di loro Judy Garland, Carmen Miranda, Sophia Loren e Greta Garbo, dal 31 agosto al 9 settembre 2012 la Salvatore Ferragamo celebra il Festival del cinema americano presso Printemps de Deauville.

All’interno di un ‘‘temporary store’’ dedicato alla linea Ferragamo’s Creations sarà presentata una selezione di scarpe effettuata da Maria Luisa, fashion editor di Printemps. Per l’occasione il brand punta sul particolare legame che esisteva tra Salvatore Ferragamo e Marilyn Monroe. E per celebrare questo particolare rapporto è stata allestita presso il Museo Salvatore Ferragamo a Firenze una mostra dedicata a Marilyn inaugurata a fine giugno. Il prossimo 7 settembre, una selezione di modelli creati dal fondatore sarà presentata in esclusiva presso il ‘‘temporary store’’ Printemps de Deauville e, alla presenza di un artigiano venuto appositamente per l’occasione dagli atelier di Firenze, saranno realizzati, secondo le tecniche dell’artigianato di lusso italiano, alcuni dei modelli creati da Salvatore Ferragamo per Marilyn Monroe.
I prodotti Ferragamo’s Creations sono riedizioni in serie limitata e numerata di alcune storiche calzature. Preziosi modelli realizzati interamente a mano utilizzando costruzioni, pellami e forme originali; rappresentano tasselli di storia del costume, e sono caratterizzati dall’etichetta storica del marchio, disegnata nel 1930 dal pittore futurista Lucio Venna.

SALVATORE FERRAGAMO CELEBRATES THE AMERICAN FILM FESTIVAL  AT THE PRINTEMPS DE DEAUVILLE

True to the image of its founder, “the shoemaker of the stars”, who created shoes for the biggest Hollywood stars like Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Judy Garland, Carmen Miranda, Sophia Loren and Greta Garbo, Salvatore Ferragamo celebrates the American Film Festival in a Printemps de Deauville pop-up store devoted to Ferragamo’s Creations, from August 31 to September 9, 2012.

For the occasion, the brand is focusing on the special bond that existed between Marilyn Monroe and Salvatore Ferragamo. Salvatore Ferragamo indeed made many shoes for the star, which have largely contributed to creating the legend that surrounds him. It is also to highlight their special relationship that the house has set up a Marilyn exhibition, held until January 2013 at the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum in the Palazzo Spini Feroni in Florence, where visitors can, among other things, discover shoes designed by the founder of the brand for the actress.

Ferragamo’s Creations offers limited-edition reissues of the most famous models of the Salvatore Ferragamo archive. Executed entirely by hand, they reproduce materials, cuts and manufacturing techniques of times past. They symbolize the history of the Florentine house. The selection of shoes made by Maria Luisa, fashion editor of Printemps, presented exclusively in Deauville comes from the Ferragamo’s Creations line.

September 7, Salvatore Ferragamo and Maria Luisa will organize, in a pop-up store in the Printemps of Deauville, an exhibition of exclusive reissues of legendary shoes created by Salvatore Ferragamo in the presence of a craftsman from the house, straight from the Florence workshops especially for the occasion. He will recreate the shoes made by Salvatore Ferragamo for Marilyn Monroe, according to the techniques of the craft of Italian luxury. Florentine specialties will be served from 10am to 7pm.
